For some time, N-type modules have been a marker on manufacturer’s roadmaps as a promising technology just over the horizon, but now their time has come. While the efficiency of the predominant P-type cells can only be increased with difficulty, some manufacturers already offer N-type modules that promise lower degradation, higher yield and a higher bifaciality factor than their P-type counterparts.
But just because a technology is promising doesn’t mean it’s practical. Is it worthwhile for investors to rely on N-type for their large-scale projects, or is the technology just short-term hype?
In this pv magazine Webinar, we will learn about the factors that have led to JinkoSolar’s decision to switch to N-type cells, Jinko’s N-type expansion plans, planned products, and the company’s transition strategy.
Presenter Roberto Murgioni, Head of Technical Service & Product Management at JinkoSolar Europe, will dive into his first-hand experience on how the implementation of the technology in the production processes in China is progressing, what opportunities there are, the differences in technology, and the purposes for which N-type modules are suitable.
Roberto will also provide the comparison between P-type and the currently best performing N-type modules and calculate the impact on the life cycle costs.
